Itinerary for Maras and Moray Cusco Tour

Maras CuscoMaras Cusco

Salt mines of Maras Cusco, a picturesque town surrounded by stunning landscapes and some of Cusco’s finest mountains. There are thousands of salt pools clinging to the canyon. These salt mines are now evaporated, but they were once said to be used pre Inka times.

The colours of the salt ponds scattered down the side of the canyon make them an incredible sight to see.

We’ll be taking you to the best viewpoint for that breathtaking gram shot.

MorayMoray Cusco

Moray is a mysterious Inka archaeological site where the ruins are circular terraces. The circular terraces of Moray in Cusco is said to be used to grow a variety of different crops.

As you descend down the terraces of Moray, you’ll feel the temperature change in this 15th century Inca Agricultural. You will then see how these terraces would have been perfect for growing crops especially potatoes which they have over 2000 different types here in Peru.

Scientists have examined this Inka site and they also examined the soil on the different terraces. They have decided that the soil came from different locations within Peru. This has also led to the inescapable conclusion that Moray and the Terraces were perhaps used as an agricultural testing station, with each level having its own microclimate.

Be prepared to explore the magic of this mysterious sight.

There is a lot of information online about Moray and there is also a lot of different takes on what it was used for. The one we like to go with is the terraces were used for the crop.

This is a great article if you want to read more about Moray
