Tourist Ticket Explained

When visiting Cusco there are many different Inka sites to explore, including ruins, museums, culture shows, and more. To visit the Inka sites in Cusco a tourist ticket is needed.

Getting a tourist ticket is easy, you can visit any one of the sites, the tricky part is deciding which Tourist Ticket you want. The best place to start is by knowing which Inka sites in Cusco you wish to visit during your trip.

Full Ticket

First, you have the full Tourist Ticket which includes 16 different sites around Cusco and it is valid for 10 days. The full ticket costs 130 soles for adults and 70 soles for students.

This ticket allows entry into the following sites:

  • Qenko
  • Pukapukara
  • Pikillacta
  • Tipon
  • Moray
  • Ollantaytambo
  • Chinchero
  • Pisac
  • Sacsayhuaman
  • Tambomachay
  • Museum of Popular Art
  • Museum of the Qoricancha (not the site)
  • Regional Historical Museum
  • Museum of Contemporary Art
  • Pachacuteq Statue
  • Qosqo Native Art and Dance Center

If your plan is to visit most of these sites listed then the best way is to buy the full ticket for 130 soles. Just take note that this ticket only gets you into these sites and other sites in Cusco do have their own entrance ticket.

Take note that the Tourist ticket only includes Museum of the Qoricancha and not the actual Qoricancha site. Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) has its own entrance ticket at 15 soles.

Circuit Ticket

There are also 3 circuit Tourist Tickets available if you don’t plan to visit all the sites. The 3 circuit tickets cost 70 soles for adults and students. So, of course, a student should purchase the full ticket.

Circuit 1 ticket is valid for 1 day will be perfect for you if your plan is to just visit the Inka ruins above the city centre.

This ticket allows entry into the following sites:

  • Tambomachay
  • Pukapukara
  • Sacsayhuaman
  • Qenko

Circuit 2 ticket is valid for 2 days. This ticket includes museums and sites in the city centre as well as the archaeological ruins in the South Valley.

This ticket allows entry into the following sites:

  • Pachacuteq Statue
  • Qosqo Native Art and Dance Center
  • Pikillacta
  • Tipon
  • Museum of Popular Art
  • Regional Historical Museum
  • Museum of the Qoricancha (not the site)
  • Museum of Contemporary Art

Circuit 3 is valid for 2 days. This ticket is great if your plan is to only visit Inka ruins on the Sacred Valley.

This ticket allows entry into the following sites:

  • Moray
  • Ollantaytambo
  • Chinchero
  • Pisac

In all of our tours, we do not include the tourist ticket because we do not know which sites you will want to visit. All of our tours that need a tourist ticket do have notes in the ‘not included section’ for whether the ticket is needed or not. You can buy just the circuit ticket for that tour but if you plan on more than 1 tour then the Full ticket is your best option.
